Stay in the know about everything that's happening at The River Mile.
This is the start of The River Mile. So naturally we call it Headwater. As the inaugural neighborhood and front door of The River Mile, Headwater will create an iconic address. And like all the other neighborhoods here, Headwater will be complete in its own right, a vibrant urban ecosystem of workplaces, residences, retail, dining, hospitality and river. All of which makes it a wonderful place for people. Which in turn makes it an exceptional place for business.
Headwater is taking seriously its role as the beginning of Denver’s new central connectivity district. The streets will be all-new, designed for today. With street trees and landscaping. Bike lanes and luxuriously wide sidewalks. Even an autonomous shuttle loop. Access to the light rail station and emerging entertainment district at Ball Arena will be provided via a new pedestrian bridge. And with outdoor gathering places scattered all over the neighborhood, Headwater lets collaboration and work-from-anywhere happen almost, well, anywhere.
By the time we pour our first foundation, we will have restored the entire stretch of South Platte River that runs alongside The River Mile. The river will be flowing deep and clear. And in Headwater, a wide town green and public plaza will overlook the revitalized riverbank, thriving with native plantings and healthy wetland areas. A pedestrian bridge will link over to Fishback Park. And a new kind of environment for work and life will have emerged: a downtown Denver neighborhood embracing true Colorado nature.
